Alexandre Poustovoit:

"Every moment the world is changing as we are. I hope that my work will bring you joy and desire to live and appreciate every moment."

"Art is Man's nature. Nature is God's art."-

-James Baily

Alexandre, as a geologist, dedicated many years to exploring and studying the earth's composition. He has now shifted his passion toward capturing the finest that Nature has to offer.

As a spiritual person, Alexandre believes that by engaging in all the wonders of the world - from a tiny pebble, to a moody sky, to a massive glacier - we enrich our lives and, by presence and attitude, the lives of all those we touch. He is self-taught, having learned his skills through his unique experience of life, shooting everything he liked, while questioning and seeking answers to the complicated issues of accepting and changing life. He tries to take pictures with "one eye open, observing the world through a viewfinder and, the other eye closed, looking to his soul"(Morath, Inge). To date, Alexandre has concentrated on landscape, wildlife, as well as experimentation with surreal photo images.

At the beginning of 2008 Alexandre held his first solo exhibition. Since then he has participated thirty one exhibitions in both Canada and Russia, twenty two of them solo.

Alexandre has produced several conceptual series, which include: "Blue Bird", "Saint Petersburg", "The Promised Land", "Time to Gather Stones", "Northern Russia", "The Canadian Rockies", "West Coast" and etc.

It is his sincere hope that his photographs will inspire us to be more aware of the natural beauty surrounding us and that we will, in turn, participate in creating a more peaceful and loving planet.
